| The 2024 Design Contest ended on Wednesday, January
26, 2023. |

On Saturday, January 28, 2023 the Board of Directors
reviewed 59 submissions in an all day meeting. |
|
The Board narrowed down the entries to 7 finalist.
|
 |
|
 |
On Thursday, February 2, 2023 all the paid members
were invited to a special Pick-The-Float meeting where they were
presented the finalist and through a series of votes were able to rank
all the finalist.
Our number 1 and 2 picks were then taken to Pasadena
on Wednesday, February 8, 2023
and submitted for their approval |

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023 we received approval that our number one pick
with the working title of "Caterpillar Melody" was accepted making
Richard Burrow from Mission Viejo, CA. our Design Contest winner!
This is Richard's fourth time winning our design
contest (first time was for 2013's Fantasy Trophy winning float "Deep
Sea Adventure", second time was 2017's "Home Tweet Home", third time was
for 2023's Queen Award winning float "Adventure Awaits"). |

On March 4, 2023 our Design Committee kicked off the
first meeting with a Brainstorming session. |

Several ideas were presented and some were quickly eliminated while
others moved forward for further review. |
| On March 30, 2023 the Design Committee released its first draft line
drawing incorporating some of the ideas presented at the Brainstorming
meeting. |

On April 16, 2023 the Design Committee released this working draft
drawing, but still more work was needed |
| On April 24, 2023 the Design Committee released this final line
drawing to Decorations Committee to start setting the colors and
materials for the new float. |

On May 14, 2023 one of our first scale drawings was released the
grid work shows the proposed relative size of the float and it's
characters.
On May 18, 2023 at the monthly General Meeting, the membership voted
to keep "Caterpillar Melody" as the official float title. |

On July 29, 2023, the final color rendering was
released |
