On Saturday, February 2, 2019, the Board of Directors reviewed 53
float design submissions in an all-day meeting and selected 6
finalists to be presented to the General Membership for their review and
ranking. |

| On Thursday, February 7, 2019 the General
Membership reviewed the 6 finalists and through a series of votes,
ranked the designs. |
|

| On Wednesday, February 13, 2019 we registered our top
two choices from the Pick-The-Float meeting at Theme Draft, held at
Tournament House in Pasadena. On Sunday, March 3, 2019, we received confirmation from
Pasadena Tournament of Roses that our membership's #1 choice was
accepted making Lisa Long of Dublin, California our Design
Contest Winner.
The working title of Lisa's design is "Rise Up".
This is Lisa's first time winning Burbank Tournament of Roses
Association's Design Contest. Congratulation! |

On April 8, 2019 the Design Committee released its first line
drawings showing a lot of the ideas presented in the previous Design
meetings. |
| On April 10th a cleaned-up line drawing was released by
the Design Committee |

| The Design Committee continues to tweak and refine the
line drawing--can you spot the differences between the two drawings
above? |

On April 29th, the Design Committee released this final (?) line
drawing. Now the Decorations Committee will work on adding the
colors. |

On Thursday, May 16, 2019 the General Membership
reviewed and voted on 49 finalist titles and picked their favorite "Rise
Up" as the official float title. |

| This is the final black and white line
drawing, next up, adding color. |
|

To the left is the draft color rendering, while there is still more
to work on, this is our first time seeing most of the selected colors
that our Decorations Committee has selected. |
| The color rendering continues to be fine
tuned and enhanced. This float entry was inspired by the fire
tragedies in California and shows that out of the ashes, the phoenix
will rise up as a symbol of Hope. |

On July 1, 2019 the final color rendering was released.
