On
Wednesday, May 14, 1997, the float construction committee of Pasadena
held their annual float builders' dinner to thank the builders for participation
in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Three "Builder of the
Year" awards are given, one to a self-built, and two to professional
builders. The award is given "in recognition of excellence in float
construction, cooperation with Tournament committees, flowering, New
Year's Eve move out, and the successful completion of the 5-1/2 mile
Rose Parade route on January 1, 1997." This year, the committee
awarded only one "Builder of the Year". It was given to the
Burbank Tournament of Roses Association! Congratulations to ALL!
